By the way, that’s a cartoon of three quarks connected by the strong force making a proton and the social constructionist Michel Foucault.  For extra credit, Murray Gell-Mann got the word quark from James Joyce’s Finnegan’s Wake’s “three quarks for Muster Mark!” (source). How’s that for metaphysical whimsy?
